Surrogacy Law
There is no law for or against surrogacy in Nigeria. Surrogacy is however a recognized practice in all the fertility hospital in Nigeria and it is supported by AFRH – Association of Fertility and Reproductive Health as one of Assisted reproductive technology being practiced with IVF.
However the silence of the law does not mean legal contracts are null and void. At meet surrogate mothers agency, our team of legal practitioners have written a comprehensive surrogacy contract that has the interest of all parties involved and adequately covered all interests.
Surrogacy in a Nigeria is practiced with utmost confidentiality and as a result of this , surrogacy contracts are signed between the surrogate mothers and the agency and between the intending parents and the agency. The aim is to protect the identity of the intending parents. However should there be any need for both intending parents and surrogate mothers to sign contracts with each other, then this can be done on request.
